Year 3 and Year 4

Welcome to Year 3/4,

We are made up of three classes with Mrs Broom, Mrs Timmins and Mrs Ridgeway as our teachers.  We are also very lucky to have Mrs Slater and Mrs Nock supporting us in class. We are a fun, hard-working year and we are looking forward to the exciting journey ahead of us.

Useful informationPE is on a Friday morning for classes 3/4T and 3/4R and on a Thursday morning for 3/4B. Please watch out for the dates of when year 4 children will be swimming after Christmas. Children will be exploring other areas of the PE curriculum throughout the year so will need to make sure they have the correct PE kit in school every day.

Spelling:  Your child is given a spelling test each week. They will be either working at the bronze, silver, gold or platinum level.  They cannot move on to the next level until they have learnt all the spellings. Please find attached the spellings for both year groups.

Reading: It is very important that you hear your child read as often as possible. In Year 3/4 we encourage the children to choose their own books to take home. Every Wednesday we will have our DEAR (drop everything and read) where parents are invited into our classrooms at 3pm to read with your child and help them choose a new book to read. Also keep a look out for our exciting reading competitions that will take place throughout the year.
