Home Learning

Children’s homework is recorded in their diary each week.

In Year 5 children are set homework on a Friday to be completed by Wednesday. It is the children’s responsibility to ensure that this homework is completed by the day required and they will need to stay in and complete it if it is not done.  It will be either Numeracy or SPaG linked to work completed in class.

Reading: Children need to be reading to an adult at least 3 x a week. Please make sure their diary is signed so they can earn the reading reward!

Times Tables: Children will have different times table focuses each week. They need to learn the multiplication and division facts. EG 7 x 9 = 63 63 ÷ 7= 9. They need to know these in mixed order and be able to answer in less than 5 seconds.

Spelling: Children will be given spellings each week to learn and they will be tested every Thursday. Click on the link to access the bronze, silver, gold and platinum spelling lists: year 5 olympic spellings 2018
